‘Medium Man’ is a personal and symbolic piece to Mass Medium Studios. Created by the owner, Matt, the artist statement is as follows:
"Medium" has always felt like an honest way to describe myself - and over time, I've grown quite content with that.
I like most music, most food, most films. I'm not tall or short, not an athlete or a slob, not a fine artist but an artist, not a designer but someone who can ideate. I am, most of the time, medium.
Rather than a limitation, I’ve found it to be the foundation of Mass Medium Studios. Being medium means creativity can move without hierarchy or hesitation. I’m not a master painter reluctantly picking up a camera, or a videographer struggling to hold a brush. Just someone who makes whatever the idea calls for, in whatever form it sees fit.
The studio’s ethos didn't come from a plan. It came from the absence of one. There was no job title, no industry lane, no existing position that made room for someone whose interests spread wide and evenly. So rather than force a fit, the studio was built around the spread itself - a creative practice that moves across art, design and production, because the idea has always come before the medium.
What keeps the freedom grounded and constantly moving is the same thing that started the studio: genuine interest. Every project, every form, every material explored here stems from something personally compelling. Not trend-chasing. Not box-ticking. Just following the idea - no matter how big, small, deep, or silly - to wherever it needs to go.
Medium Man is this idea made physical. A self-portrait built from many different mediums - because every new medium feels like another part of me.
