Glass + Resin
Transforming discarded glass into a new body of work, this process begins by crushing waste glass bottles and jars into small fragments. The shards are then thoroughly washed and sorted to select clean, suitable pieces for assembly. Once a desirable selection is achieved, the glass is coated in acrylic paint and left to dry, creating new colours. The prepared shards are loosely compacted and bonded using clear epoxy resin, which acts as a transparent adhesive. After a full curing process, the surface is brushed to remove any loose fragments before a final resin coating is applied to ensure the work’s structural integrity.
