Paraffin wax + cotton wick
This work begins with a hand-sculpted paper clay figure, which serves as the master form for a two-part silicone mould. Platinum-cure silicone is poured in two sequential halves to capture the full form, with registration keys ensuring precise alignment between each pour. The candle is then cast in paraffin wax blended with hardening additives for increased opacity and surface density, poured at a controlled temperature through a single opening at the crown. Once set and demoulded, the surface is hand-finished before the wick is trimmed and the piece is prepared for burning.
